donate (optional) Blessing others has never been more easy! You can choose to donate all, a few, or none at the touch of a button. Just always keep in mind, any items not picked up during consignor pick up times will be donated.
price You set your own price on all items. Price to sell! Generally items sell for 1/3 - 1/4 of the original price, depending on name brand and condition. Better brand names, unique items, or high price items usually bring more. Ask yourself "What would I pay for this item? Please price your items in $1.00 or .50 cent increments. $3.00 RULE on CLOTHING ONLY: if a clothing item is not able to bring in a minimum of $3.00 on its own, please pair it with something so that it will!
discount (optional) Please be selective on the items that you decide not to discount, since items with no stars tend to sell better on the discount days. If you are donating your items at the end of the sale, please make sure you select the reduce option on myjbftags.
description The more words used to describe the item the better in case the tag becomes seperated from the item. Words or phrases that positively describe the item are helpful in selling it. Such as: brand new, worn a few times, great Easter outfit, fabulous for church, etc. Brand names are also great eye catchers. Tagging and Hanging Instructions:
safety pins Please use 1" or larger safety pins: no straight pins or small gold ones. Remember all multi-piece clothing items must be safety pinned together through all pieces. This will prevent your items from separating.
tagging with a tagging gun We highly recommend the use of using a tagging gun! It is much quicker, and it leaves almost no markings from the tags this way. If you are interested in ordering a tag gun, we have a JBF suggested tagging gun packet referenced here that you can purchase. It includes:
- One new Standard Needle Gun with needle
- 500 - 1 1/2 inch barbs
- 500 - 2 inch barbs
- 5 extra needles
- 25 sheets of white cardstock
Get yours now for only $20!
tag location Attach card with either the tagging gun or the safety pins to the label of the shirt or upper right front of pants. If you use a tag gun please insert the gun in a label or inside seam NOT through part of the clothing (to avoid making a hole or tear in the clothing). Also, pull on the tag to make sure it is properly secured and will not come off easily. Please make sure your JBF consignor tags are pulled out of the clothing so they are easily visible to the customers.
Tape inside the collar (optional): If you would like to make an effort to ensure that an item will sell if the tag is lost we suggest putting a piece of masking tape, with your consignor #, on the inside collar or waistband of your clothing item. We can not sell items that are missing tags.
tagging toys and baby equipment Fasten tags securely to your items with clear mailing tape; do not use scotch tape. You can also punch a hole in the top of your JBF tag and attach the tag securely with ribbon or string. Zip ties are great and useful for attaching tags and multiple items together (can be purchased at a local hardware store, discount stores, or wholesale stores).
tagging toys and equipment...with multiple items For items with multiples pieces, put a tag on each piece. Barcode the first tag with all of the necessary information as normal but include "1 of X", (X is the number of pieces). Handwrite all of the other tags, write your consignor number, the description, and "2 of X", etc. Please do not put the price on any other tags, but the first one. Only use multiple tags for items that belong together. Please do not do this for clothing items, clothing sets should be pinned together with one tag on the front.
tagging shoes Please make sure that the shoes are clean, clean, clean! Not too worn. Fasten shoes together with ribbon, string, or Zip ties by punching a hole in the top of your tag and attaching the tag. You may also add a hole reinforcer to your tag to make sure the tag is not torn off. (a piece of tape will do great!)
hanging instructions Please hang size 0-4 garments on child size hangers. Some of the 5-6 sizes are still in the in between of child size/adult size hangers, so please use your judgement. Any thing larger should be hung on adult size hangers, to prevent item from falling off of hanger. All garments should be hung with the hanger hook pointing left (hanger should resemble a question mark when looking at the front of item). Safety pin clothing sets securely with pants hung on the backside of the shirt, so both pieces can be viewed without unpinning them. Safety pin through BOTH pieces AND through the hanger (this will prevent pants from weighing down the shirt and causing a possible tear). Please safety pin pants to the top part of the hanger so the garment will not slide.
hangers For the child size hangers please use plastic tube hangers or discarded department store hangers. Remember to safety pin pants to the top part of the hanger so the garment will not slide. You may also use the clip pant hangers that department stores use. For adult size hangers wire or plastic is fine.
sort Please have your clothes sorted by size and gender. This will make drop off easier and faster for you. |
