VOLUNTEER PARKING - DOWNTOWN SACRAMENTO - JBF will cover THE FIRST $5.00 of your parking expense each day, during your VOLUNTEER shift.
- To receive validation, you must park at the Memorial Garage located at 14th & H and bring in your parking ticket for validation.
- There is an early-bird parking special at this lot, if you ENTER BEFORE 9:30am and LEAVE AFTER after 6:00pm. Maximum rate of $6.00 for the entire day.
- Memorial Parking Garage has a maximum parking fee of $13 per day, if you ENTER AFTER 9:30am and LEAVE BEFORE 6:00pm. The charges start over after 6:00pm, so parking all day and night can run up to $26.
- During the week and Saturday, parking is FREE on the street AFTER 6:00pm. If you have the 6pm - 11pm shift, please bring a couple quarters to feed the meters, so you can park on the street during your shift.
- ALTERNATE EVENING PARKING OPTION: There is NEW $2.00 Flat Rate parking fee AFTER 4:00pm or all-day on the weekend at the EAST END Parking Garage located at 17th & L, between Capitol & L. No validation will be provided for this lot. This lot closes at 2:00am.
Guidelines for Volunteers:
We want volunteering for Just Between Friends to be a fun experience and something that is a privilege. Remember, you are shopping before the general public and you will be getting first pick from the best of the best! There are several ways to help. Volunteers will handle crowd control, security, check-out stations, cleaning up, re-hanging, reorganizing, running errands, closing organization and breakdown. (volunteers working the last shift may leave early when we are finished and still get credit for their complete shift) Bring any food or drink you might need during your shift.
Sorting & Breakdown:
If a consignor does not show up for their shift(s) they will not only lose their incentive commission percentage but their commission will drop to 40%. It is VERY important that volunteers be responsible for their shifts. If you are unable to work for any reason, please find a replacement. If you have an EMERGENCY, please notify Shannon at 916.718.6897 916.718.6897. We implemented this volunteer policy in order to prevent people from taking advantage of the early shopping benefits, then failing to work their scheduled shift. Please be aware that we do not offer childcare for volunteers.
Cancelling your shift: All consignors that wish to pick up unsold items are required to assis with a 2-hour Breakdown Help shift. Sign up online for your 2-hour shift. Breakdown Help shifts do not qualify for the Volunteer Presale program; however, we do have Breakdown Lead positions available from 1pm to 6pm, where you can earn 5 presale hours. We need 5 strong men to work the late shift at breakdown to help breakdown tables, racks and load the truck. This is a DOUBLE CREDIT shift. He works 5 hours and YOU get 10 presale credit hours! The shift goes from 6pm to 11pm. We will allow you to load your own items during this working shift. (volunteers ONLY may leave the last shift early when we are finished organizing and take their unsold items, however, NOT BEFORE, SORRY NO EXCEPTIONS)

Additional Volunteer Opportunities Printing and passing out flyers You can print 100 copies of our flyer on colored paper, cut them in half for a total of 200 flyers. Deliver or pass out the flyers to local schools, daycares, neighbors, kid's activity events or place them on car windows at stores and events. 200 flyers = 2 hours of volunteer credit. The SPRING/SUMMER SALE FLYER will be available under PRINTABLE INFORMATION. Please print 100 black and white copies of the flyer on colored paper, cut in 1/2 and distribute (total 200 flyers). Reminder Phone Calls We need to contact as many past Consignors as possible to remind them about the upcoming JBF event. We will provide you with 100 names and telephone numbers to do phone call reminders. You can leave a nice message or note if the numbers are no longer valid. We will provide a phone script for you to use. 100 calls = 2 hours of volunteer credit. Sign up for this option and we will email the phone list to you a few weeks before the sale. Calls must be completed prior to drop-off. Turn in your completed phone list updates at drop-off. Barter Opportunities There are a number of items needed to run a great sale. You can sign up to purchase items needed at the sale or cook meals for volunteers stuck there all day and earn Volunteer credit for doing so.
