please follow these guidelines for preparing your sale items

PRICE & PREPARE
Preparation is key to selling for top dollar!

JBF Rules: "Lessons we've learned."
1) We will not & cannot sell items that do not have a tag.
(Be sure your tags are secure. Some JBF consignors use tagging guns, and those work great, too.)
2) Items not tagged appropriately may be turned away at drop-off. (Any tags with cross offs, white out, stickers, or any hand written markings on them will not be accepted for security reasons.

HANG IT

Consignors are responsible to provide appropriate sized hangers for clothing pieces. We have found Walmart and Dollar stores to
be great suppliers of child size hangers, 10 for $1. Hangers WILL NOT be returned at the end of the sale.clothes.gif

  • Please hang outfits together on a single hanger, when possible. Use large safety pins to hold pants and other pieces on the hanger. You want to make sure items are secure and will not be seperated during the sale.
  • HANGERS MUST HANG IN THE SAME DIRECTION

PIN IT - TAPE IT - SECURE YOUR TAG!

  • All clothing items need to have tags secured to the proper upper right (as you are looking at the front of the item).
  • Be careful with pin placement. Consider using smaller pins with heavy fabrics like leather and on heavy coats.
  • Shoes should be zip tied together or tied with string with a hole punched in the tag.
  • Toys and other items: You may need to get creative. Many toys and items are tagged using clear packing tape. Other items, such as cribs and swings and shoes, can be tagged using ribbon or zip tags and then pin the tag to those. Just make sure your tag is visible and secure. SEE THE TOY AND OTHER ITEMS SPECIFIC SECTIONS FOR ADDITIONAL HELP.

HOW TO PRICE YOUR ITEMS

This is probably the most common question I get.
There is no universal answer for this. My advice is to ask a friend and just try out a sale. If your items all sell on opening day you priced too low. If they don't sell until Sunday or don't sell at all your priced to high. Toys are a huge seller and toddler clothes.  Quality brands sell well too. Children's furniture and Little Tikes sell very well.  Small baby clothes size 0-6 months and maternity clothes are not as hot of an item so price them low.  Outfits sell best and make sure you bundle small items together. Do not price anything under $1.00.
