About JBF

Hi, I’m Kristen Parent! As a local mom, I know firsthand that raising kids is a beautiful, expensive whirlwind. That’s why I jumped at the chance to take over the Just Between Friends franchise for Dane County in 2019, and to the Rockford, IL territory in 2025. Because I apparently love a packed schedule, I also serve as the President & CEO of the Middleton Chamber of Commerce. Managing these two JBF businesses alongside my Chamber role means life is incredibly busy, but JBF is a total family affair. My husband, Kasey, handles a ton of the behind-the-scenes work, from computers and IT to anchoring the heavy-lifting crew alongside my dad and brother-in-law. Meanwhile, our teenager, Addison, prefers to stay on the sidelines, but our youngest, Isabel, is officially my “succession plan”—learning every single part of the business!

Every event is a massive community effort, and I’m lucky to run it alongside my childhood friend, Jenn. She’s the one who originally introduced me to JBF, and today she serves as our expert consignor coach and end-of-sale sort leader. For me, JBF is the ultimate blend of my professional love for local commerce and my personal mission to help families thrive. Whether you are clearing out the clutter to cash in, or hunting for the next size up for your growing crew, we’ve built this village for you. We are so incredibly grateful for the rockstar team that brings these sales to life, and we can’t wait to welcome you to our next event!

Southwestern Wisconsin Community Action Program (SWCAP)

When a seller chooses to donate their unsold items, they are helping an organization which serves over 16 counties in Southern Wisconsin. SWCAP is nonprofit organization focused on helping families deal with the effects of poverty in the short-term and in sustainably addressing the causes of poverty at a regional level. SWCAP has been our charity partner since JBF started in Dane County in 2009.

Babies & Beyond of Wisconsin

Babies & Beyond journeys with women and families through the challenges and joys of pregnancy and early childhood by providing compassionate support, sharing materials and creating community connections. Babies & Beyond is also the partner behind our textile recycling initiative. Sellers can bring clothing and shoes that do not meet our quality standards for selling. Instead of just throwing them away, you can bring them to us for recycling!

Is it free to get in and open to the public?

Yes, we are open to the public. General admission is $3 on our public sale days, but you can get a free ticket online.

How can I shop early?

The Presale gives shoppers the opportunity to shop before we open to the public. Free presale tickets are given to our sellers, team members, expecting parents, and hometown heroes (teachers, first responders, adoptive/foster & military families). If you work or sell with us, you get to bring a guest with you to the presale!

Can I shop early even if i’m not one of those people mentioned above?

Yes! We have Platinum, Gold, and Prime Time tickets so that you can shop before we open to the public. Experienced JBF shoppers will tell you it’s 100% worth the ticket price to shop early, which means you get the best selection and the best deals!

How often does this sale happen?

The sale only happens 2-3 times a year. You can’t afford to miss it!

What kinds of items will be at the sale?

Anything for kids & baby! Clothing & shoes sizes newborn to teen and maternity. Baby gear (strollers, car seats, swings, highchairs, bouncers – you name it!), nursery furniture, indoor & outdoor toys, books, games, feeding & bathing items, bedding, room decor, sports equipment, electronics, costumes and so much more at prices up to 50-90% off retail!

Do I need a ticket to shop?

JBF is not your everyday shopping trip. It's your once-a-season chance to stock up on everything your growing kids need for the next six months. With so many families making the smart choice to save $$$ during the JBF sale, we use tickets to manage flow during each day of the event. Grab tickets for you and a friend today!

How can I shop earlier?

Get in on our Early Access shopping days by purchasing a ticket. Or, become a Seller to shop first!
